Welcome to the Office of Accessibility at BMCC. The Office of Accessibility at BMCC is a dynamic unit that is committed to the practice of identifying, implementing, and managing reasonable accommodations for BMCC students with disabilities. Working to create an inclusive environment for students with disabilities, the Office of Accessibility supports BMCC students with disabilities that self-disclose to the College that they have a qualifying disability. The office does this by determining their eligibility for reasonable academic and co-curricular accommodations and advising the BMCC community on best practices for creating inclusive spaces for learning and fellowship on campus.
New Students
Students with disabilities who are new to the Office of Accessibility and are requesting accommodations for the first time at BMCC should register for accommodations by completing an Application for Accommodations and Services and submitting supporting documentation.
Returning Students
Students with disabilities who have already registered with the Office of Accessibility should complete an Accommodation Letter Request form every semester to notify their professors of their accommodations. Students may also contact their Accessibility Specialist at any time during the year to discuss accommodations or any other disability-related issue. The department’s Accessibility Specialists are assigned by major so please refer to the Meet the Staff page to see which Specialist oversees a particular major.
This site provides information about how to register with the office, general policies and procedures for the office, and different support services that are offered through the office.
