Study Abroad Programs
BMCC encourages faculty to get involved in the College’s international initiatives. Faculty can apply to lead a study abroad course to the country of their choice. Learn more about leading an existing study abroad program or proposing a new one.
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL)
Faculty may also participate in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). COIL facilitates a virtual exchange between a BMCC classroom and a college or university abroad. Collaborative Online International Learning can be used as part of an existing course and does not need to be used for the whole semester–a minimum of four weeks is recommended.
While COIL has been used at other colleges, this program is new to BMCC. Faculty can apply in fall 2019 to include COIL in fall 2020 courses (applications due Nov. 4). Workshops will be provided in spring 2020 for faculty who will be participating in this program. Learn more about COIL.
