Welcome back to BMCC! We are very happy that you made the important decision to continue your education. Before meeting with an advisor, you must file a readmission application with the admissions office. All degree-seeking (matriculating) students are required to meet with an advisor every semester prior to registration.
If you last attended BMCC prior to 2013, you will notice some changes:
- In fall 2013, CUNY implemented a new system of general education requirements in all of its undergraduate colleges. The establishment of the uniform “Pathways” framework across the University means that all general education courses taken at one CUNY college will transfer seamlessly to all other colleges within CUNY, saving you, both time and money. If you started at BMCC prior to fall 2013, make certain to review with your advisor if following or opting out of Pathways will result in a shorter time to degree completion.
- Another way to save time and money is to ensure you receive transfer credit for all earned college course work. If you attended a non-CUNY college be sure to submit official transcripts or official e-transcripts to: transcripts@bmcc.cuny.edu. If you attended a CUNY college while on leave from BMCC, you do not need to submit your official CUNY transcript, but you should indicate this on the readmission application. It is important that any expected transfer credits be evaluated prior to advisement and registration. Please consult with the Admissions Office regarding your transfer credit evaluation.
- If your interests or professional goals have changed, you do not have to continue in your previous major. The College has added many new majors over the years. Currently, BMCC offers more than 50 majors and certificate programs. See a complete list of degree programs.
- Please note, some majors have been discontinued. BMCC no longer offers the Office Administration, Office Automation, and Office Automation Certificate programs.
