Laboratory Safety Orientation

Students wishing to participate in laboratory research must complete a Laboratory Safety Orientation with the research core laboratory manager. Laboratory Safety Orientations are given each semester.

If you are a student participating in a research program or a faculty member that would like your class to complete a lab safety training, contact the laboratory manager to attend an upcoming laboratory safety orientation.

Once completed, students must take and pass the BMCC Core Laboratory Safety Review Quiz.

CITI Training

The City University of New York requires all researchers, including faculty, staff and student researchers to complete the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) compliance course for the Responsible Conduct of Research. In addition, those working with human subjects (e.g. conducting surveys or evaluations with human participants) must complete the CITI Human Subjects Research course.
