Make sure you are covered financially if you get sick or need to see the doctor. The Advocacy and Resource Center partners with health insurance navigators who advise and assist students in enrolling in a health insurance plan (this process is currently remote; in-person services are planned to resume Fall 2022). This includes access to health insurance plans on the NY State of Health Marketplace as well as Medicaid coverage.
Health insurance in New York State is available to international students as well as those with undocumented immigration status.
Our partner healthcare navigators will screen students for the appropriate plan based on income, which in some cases may be free or as low as $20.00 per month under the new Essential Plan option.
