New students who opt into the program (Mentees) are matched with a compatible mentor based upon a brief questionnaire. Mentees and mentors are matched for a semester-long experience. Peer mentors also attend and help facilitate events that foster community building, leadership and academic success. They help new students “learn the ropes” of college life by discussing such topics as:

  • Time management and getting organized
  • Communicating with professors
  • Studying effectively
  • Navigating the campus
  • Registering for classes
  • Balancing academic life with personal responsibilities
  • Expanding your CCT transcript and building resume experiences
