President’s Fund Committees Update

BMCC Community,

BMCC President Anthony E. Munroe
BMCC President Anthony E. Munroe

Developments with the President’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation continue to move forward in support of the College’s strategic investment in innovative projects, initiatives, and programming that advances BMCC’s mission, and honors Ms. MacKenzie Scott’s intent to focus on basic needs, equity and inclusion, economic mobility, and support for the demographic population served by BMCC.

I am writing to thank members of the BMCC community who submitted their names for membership to one of three committees of the President’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation. We received almost 100 names that included faculty, staff, and students who have expressed interest in one of three committees: Teaching and Curriculum Initiatives, Innovative Programs, and  Transformational Student Support. As part of this evolving process, the co-chairs for each of the committees will be making selections from this group of interested individuals.

In addition, we have invited College Council to vote for six of its members, excluding members of Cabinet, to be considered for membership on one of the three committees. Voting closes on April 20.

The membership in all three committees will be shared in an email communication to the college community on Thursday, April 22.

Reminder:
Faculty, staff, and students can submit proposals to receive funding from the President’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation to only one of the three focus areas (1. Teaching and Curriculum Initiatives, 2. Transformational Student Support, or 3. Innovative Programs). The deadline to submit an online Letter of Intent is 5 p.m., Monday, April 19. Letters of Intent are invited from students, staff, and faculty, individually or in groups, but individuals can only lead one project per funding cycle. Proposals for usage of these funds will only be considered if they adhere to the guiding principles of the Fund, support the mission and vision of BMCC. Visit the PFEI website to learn more.

Thank you for your continued interest and participation.

Sincerely,

Anthony E. Munroe signature
