The Out in Two Scholarship is awarded to you, if accepted, during each of your final three semesters provided you meet program requirements each term. Scholarships are awarded during the middle of the semester. You are responsible for any tuition and fees not covered by the Out in Two Scholarship or any other aid you may receive by the start of each semester. While this is an academic scholarship, we operate under financial aid guidelines and policies.
If you are receiving financial aid
You may benefit from the Out in Two Scholarship even if you receive Pell and TAP awards or other aid types. There are a few things to consider, including:
- There is a maximum amount of aid you can receive. The maximum is determined based on your FAFSA. You should consult with a financial aid specialist if you are interested in the Out in Two Scholarship and receive one or more of the following:
- Maximum Pell and TAP grants
- Federal Work-Study
- Maximum federal loans award(s)
- New York State Excelsior Scholarship
- If you have questions about your financial aid, you can email finaid@bmcc.cuny.edu or speak with a specialist via the Panther Station.
If you did not file the FAFSA or are not eligible to
If you did not file the FAFSA or are not eligible to, you can still qualify for the Out in Two Scholarship if you meet the program eligibility requirements. Please note, however, you will need to have a Social Security Number posted in your CUNYfirst account or be able to provide an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) in order for the scholarship to be processed per the United States government.
