New Student Programs

Welcome to the Borough of Manhattan Community College! Congratulations on choosing to Start Here –and Go Anywhere. This is a very exciting time to be a CUNY student on our campus. The New Student Programs team is here to help introduce you to all that BMCC has to offer.

  • First Year Experience (FYE) is a six-week series of workshops, meeting once a week for 50-minutes. This program introduces new students to people and resources at the college that will help them be successful at BMCC and beyond.
  • S.T.A.R. Ambassadors are student-employees who help out with New Student Programs and the Office of Student Affairs in various roles, such as assisting with First Year Experience workshops.
  • Panther Partners help first-generation college students at BMCC. Students are paired with faculty or staff mentors, who were also first generation college students, and who can answer questions and help them make the most of their college experience.

First, meet your New Student Programs team.
