Afrikan Heritage Month: Treating Violence: The Public Health Crisis in our Communities

Afrikan Heritage Month 2025

Join us for a powerful interactive discussion featuring Dr. Rob Gore, emergency room physician, activist, and founder of the Kings Against Violence Initiative (KAVI), an in-school, hospital and community non-profit anti-violence program that looks to teach young people how to resolve conflicts peacefully.

Dr. Gore will discuss the critical work of healing communities that have been traumatized by gun violence and solutions to this stop the public health crisis that has affected generations of Black families.

Attendees will receive a free copy of Dr. Gore’s book, “Treating Violence: An Emergency Room Doctor Takes on a Deadly American Epidemic.”
