Criteria
- All students regardless of nationality and backgrounds are welcome to apply.
- Plan to enroll in the spring 2025 semester.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a full-time, enrolled in 12 credits or more

Community Service and Leadership (Advocating):
- Applicants may highlight any community service or leadership roles they have undertaken to strengthen their application.
Work, Internships, and Extracurricular Activities:
- Applicants are encouraged to include details about any work experience, internships, or extracurricular they participate in outside of school. This can include:
- Part-time jobs.
- Volunteer work.
- Artistic pursuits or creative projects.
- Sports or club involvement.
- Applicants should explain how these experiences contribute to their personal growth, career goals, or community impact.
Recognition of Academic Growth:
- Special consideration may be given to students who have shown significant GPA improvement over time, even if they fall into a lower category.

- Submit an essay answering the following three questions: ( AI using is not allowed)
- Instructions:Please respond to each question thoughtfully and authentically, using your own words. Do not use AI or external assistance to craft your responses. Each answer should be no longer than 250 words. Responses exceeding this limit may not be considered.

What is one passion, habit, or pursuit that defines you today, and how has a pivotal moment in your past shaped it? - Future (BMCC):
Imagine writing a thank-you letter to BMCC 10 years from now. What lessons, experiences, or opportunities from your time here would you credit for shaping your journey and helping you achieve your dreams? - Integration for Society:
Picture yourself leading a project that combines everything you’ve learned from your past, present, and future aspirations. What would it be about, who would it impact, and why does it matter to you?
How to apply
To access the BMCC SGA Scholarship Application, follow the steps below:
- Visit the BMCC Portal
- Login (Your login information is your student e-mail login)
- After you have logged in successfully, click on the “Scholarship Manager” icon.
- Look for SGA Scholarship Application – Spring 2025 and click on “Start Application Now” (Follow the instructions to complete the application).

Selection Process
A selection committee reviews all scholarship applications. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic record, career objective, financial need, leadership ability, participation in school activities, and community service.
