Mahmudul Hossain

Candidate for Senator
Voices of Students

Mahmudul HossainHello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Mahmudul Hossain, and I’m from Bangladesh and majoring in computer science here at BMCC. When I joined BMCC in my first semester, I realized that challenging myself beyond familiar boundaries would be essential for my personal and academic development.

I previously served as a team leader in Bangladesh Scout and volunteered with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, roles that taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, empathy, and teamwork. Now, at BMCC, I am continuing my growth journey by engaging actively in my courses, participating in different clubs, working with student affairs, and exploring my passion for videography, taking moments that bring joy to others.

One of my main goals at BMCC is to foster a stronger sense of community among students from diverse backgrounds. I believe we thrive best when we understand and support each other. Building strong relationships has helped me feel connected and less stressed, and I want every student at BMCC to experience that sense of belonging.

I am committed to creating an environment where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. I would love the opportunity to serve you and contribute actively to improving our community. Together, let’s build a supportive, inclusive space that encourages open dialogue, personal growth, and collective success. When we all come together and support each other, real change can happen. Let’s create a space where everyone feels safe to talk, share, and relax—a place where race doesn’t matter. If I’m elected as a senator, I will work to improve the experience of BMCC students and support our clubs. Let’s succeed together.

Sincerely, Mahmudul Hossain
