Hello Fellow BMCC Students,
My name is Devin Rivera, and I have been a student at BMCC for four semesters, majoring in media, I have continually sought a more enriching college experience. Last year, I had the privilege of serving as both treasurer and secretary of the Corporate Engagement Club. This club played a vital role in organizing the memorable BMCC Boat Party last semester. That event was not just a celebration; it embodied the vibrant spirit that all students hope to experience during our time at college.
I understand the challenges that students encounter and that it’s significance that club life plays. Building friendships has made it easier for me to join a club. I have engaged with my professors and peers to take part in internships, such as Career Connective Learning (CCL). In this internship, I’m with a group that works with Vice President Craig to inform students about our newsletter, the “Stall Street Journal.”
My mission as Senator centers on fostering a supportive environment where students can remain dedicated to their aspirations. I have always aspired to participate in student government, as I believe the student body must be seen and heard. By collaborating with my fellow students, I can contribute to fostering a positive and thriving campus environment, both now and in the future. If we embrace taking risks, we can collectively work towards achieving our goals, ultimately paving the way for a brighter future. Together, we can inspire commitment and resilience. “Risk is our business”.
