Candidate for Senator
Independent Candidate
From One Student to Another,
If you believe in more, read this…
My name is Chantel Shuler, but those familiar with me call me Tee. I’m running to be your next Student Government Senator, and I want to be familiar with all of you. I want you to know upfront: this isn’t about a title or the benefits. It’s about us.
I believe in something simple, but powerful:
Start here. Build Community. Go anywhere.
That’s not just a motto. It’s how I live, and how I plan to lead.
I know what it is like to feel like your voice gets lost in the shuffle. I have had moments where I did not know who to go to or felt like no one was really listening. That’s why I am stepping up. Not to speak over anyone, but to make sure everyone gets heard.
We all came to BMCC to start something, whether it is a new path, a second chance, or the next step toward our goals. But we go further when we go together. Without a strong community, college can feel isolating. I want to change that.
If elected, I’ll focus on:
- Building a stronger community by creating spaces where we feel supported and connected
- Real representation by making sure student’s voices are at the center of every conversation
- Accountability and action by being someone who follows through, not just talks
If you have ever felt unseen or unheard, I get it. I’m not here to pretend I have all the answers. I’m here to listen, to learn, and to lead with purpose.
Let’s build something real together. Something that lasts.
Start here. Building community. Go anywhere.
With care,
Chantel “Tee” Shuler
