Candidate for Senator
United Slate
My name is Abdul Hamid Razaku, and I am running for SGA senator with a clear mission: to advocate for all religions, clubs, and the student body as a whole. I believe that leadership is about listening, acting, and delivering real results.
When a situation calls for change, it is only right that someone steps up and makes it happen. Central to my platform is an unwavering commitment to ensure that all clubs receive their fair share of funding and representation, that all religions feel at home on campus, that more events are established for the student body, and most importantly, that every student feels empowered to succeed.
As for the clubs, the appointment of a senator in a team of five other senators and a treasurer is key. I will ensure that all clubs, regardless of their background, receive their rightful budgets by eliminating bias from the budgeting process. My team and I are committed to establishing a transparent criteria and process, ensuring that all budgets are managed with integrity and accountability.
Religious representation will also be a priority during my tenure. I am committed to ensuring
that all religions feel respected and represented by advocating for a large-capacity prayer room where everyone feels welcome, and by providing students with the religious resources and support they need.
As we evaluate the current campus events, it is clear that hosting more activities is essential to boost student engagement and create a more vibrant campus community. By organizing diverse and inclusive events, we can foster stronger connections, celebrate different cultures, and offer more opportunities for personal and professional growth. These events will not only enhance the student experience but also strengthen school spirit and unity.
To conclude, I ask for your support as we embark on this term together. With your help, we can foster the growth of the BMCC community, staying true to the statement: “Start here, go anywhere.” Thank you!
