Mission Statement
The Center for Belonging and Inclusion (CBI) supports the longstanding and emerging needs of women-identified students; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities; and students seeking immigration-related support and resources.
Grounded in healing justice, the CBI addresses issues stemming from systemic oppression and trauma by creating safe spaces for reflection, safety, and personal growth. At the CBI, we ensure that students, staff, and faculty from strategically overlooked communities develop a strong sense of inclusivity in all aspects of their BMCC journey through initiatives that uplift the voices of BIPOC and first-generation students, women, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Vision Statement
The Center for Belonging and Inclusion is a dynamic hub of collaboration and transformation, offering programs and services that foster deeper connections, critical thinking, and transformative care. We empower students, in collaboration with staff and faculty, to thrive with resilience, equity, and justice at the heart of their BMCC journey.
Our services extend beyond access to encompass well-being, restoration, and holistic care, addressing both immediate needs and long-term development through actionable futures.
