The heinous attack by Hamas on Israel and its people is as horrific as it is heartbreaking. The images contained in news reports coming out of Israel have been shocking, and we offer our fervent hopes and prayers for an end to this violence. We at BMCC join CUNY’s Chancellor in offering our fullest support to those who now fear for the safety of family, friends, or colleagues in the region. We will continue our efforts to keep our campus safe and inclusive for all members of the BMCC community. We will also continue the work we do to encourage scholarship, dialogue, tolerance, and civil engagement that fosters understanding and a way forward. Counselors are readily available to support our students, faculty, and staff in coping with the inevitable emotional impact of this tragedy.
