BMCC Departments Welcome Team Members in Management Roles

Borough of Manhattan Community College’s (BMCC/CUNY) Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) and Office of Public Safety announce two team members in management roles.

Geneen McCauley was recently hired to join the IA team as Associate Director for Annual Giving. Prior to BMCC, McCauley served as the National Annual Fund Manager with the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she was responsible for leading strategies to increase annual giving and engagement of donors.

McCauley’s other previous experience includes serving as the Annual Fund Manager with York College; as Senior Development Officer with Artists Raising Awareness; as Development Officer with Progressive State Network; and Development Consultant with the Museum of Art and Design. McCauley earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Baruch College. She has also volunteered with many organizations including the YMCA-Harlem, Mount Laurel; Big Brother Big Sister as a Young Professional Committee Member; and the Friends of Thomas Greene Park as a Board Member.

The Office of Public Safety announces the promotion of Adan Rivera as Deputy Director. Rivera has been serving the BMCC community since 2007. A graduate of the CUNY Public Safety Academy, Rivera began his career as a Campus Peace Officer at BMCC and moved up the ranks to positions of higher responsibility in the title of Sergeant and most recently as a Lieutenant.

In his years of service at BMCC, Rivera has been leading the efforts of providing CPR and AED training to the entire CUNY community. A certified CPR/AED instructor, Rivera has also completed certifications in Stop the Bleed training, Active Shooter instructor for both Law Enforcement and Civilians. In his 15 years of service at BMCC, Rivera has received numerous department citations and awards, recognizing the commitment and dedication to the mission of CUNY as an institution and BMCC as the largest community college in the system.
