I am particularly interested in the ways that Black, and other racialized communities, use cultural practices to imagine, feel, and enact freedom. For my dissertation, I am conducting a multi-sited ethnography of Black biking subcultures in the United States and South Africa.
I also work as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College and have taught courses on Social Movements & Social Change as well as Sex & Gender. Prior to attending graduate school, I worked as an organizer for many years within the Movement For Black Lives.
