Professor Carlo Diego teaches 3D animation, motion graphics, and digital graphic design. His interests include 3D modeling, animation, motion graphics, mid-century architecture and design, future user interface design, generative art, virtual reality, and game engines.

Courses Taught
- Students will learn to construct 3D motion graphics for video, film, game, multimedia and internet applications. Students will use an advanced CGI program to make original animations in a three-coordinate spae. Students will learn to model three-dimensional objects and to choreograph scenes, controlling character movement, lighting, sound, and camera directions.
Prerequisite: MMP 100 or MMA 100 - This course follows ANI 401. Students will use an advanced CGI program, to make original animations in a three-coordinate space. Students will learn to model three-dimensional objects and to choreograph scenes, controlling character movement, lighting, sound, and camera direction. Small groups will produce short animations.
Prerequisite: ANI 401
Corequisite: ENG 101 and MAT 100-level or higher - This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of creating motion graphics and visual effects for a variety of media projects. Students will develop foundation design skills, apply animation principles in time-based visualizations, and illustrate a working knowledge of visual storytelling and industry-standard motion graphics, compositing, and visual effects applications.
Prerequisite: VAT 161 or VAT 171 or MMA 100 or MMP 100 - This image-based course will introduce graphic design as the foundation upon which effective visual communication is built. Investigation of the elements and principles of graphic design will lead to specific design problems and their solution. The development of ideas and the ability to communicate them effectively will be covered. Discussion of both vector and bitmap-based digital graphic platforms will begin progress toward industry-standard computer proficiency.
