Writing Center Workshop: Introduction to Academic Writing

College introduces us to various writing formats that may be new and unknown to incoming students. The blanket term for writing produced in college is “academic writing.” This workshop will answer the question, “What is Academic Writing?” It will give an overview of the processes involved in college writing as well as the terminology used by professors to explain writing tasks. A student who takes this workshop should gain a better understanding of the expectations associated with various types of “academic writing.”

All Writing Center summer workshops take place online, are discussion-based and free to BMCC students.
