The theme of this workshop will be Streamlining Work and School Tasks with Artificial Intelligence (AI), led by Dr. Shane Snipes. Professor Snipes is the author of Transforming Education with AI: Guide to Understanding and Using ChatGPT in the Classroom (AI for Education Book 1).
This workshop is the first of a two-part series. The second workshop will be on April 3.
Objective: Dive deeper into practical AI tools and techniques for optimizing everyday work and school-related tasks.
Part 1: Interactive Presentation (30 minutes)
- AI Tools Overview: Introduction to AI tools that can assist with email management, scheduling, research, and data analysis.
- Customizing AI Tools: Tips for configuring AI tools to match individual needs and workflows.
- Maintaining Human Oversight: The importance of monitoring AI performance and adjusting as needed.
Part 2: Hands-On Activities (1 hour)
- Activity 1: Participants choose an AI tool relevant to their needs and configure it for a specific task (e.g., filtering emails, automating calendar scheduling).
- Activity 2: Implement an AI-assisted workflow for a research or data analysis task using a simplified AI platform.
- Group Discussion: Review of the tools used, discussion on the ease of integration, and the impact on task efficiency.
