Middle States Kick-off

BMCC is kicking off the start of our Middle States Self-Study on March 3, 2025, 1-3 p.m. in the Richard Harris Terrace. All BMCC students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend to learn about this important undertaking for the college.

WHAT is the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)?

A global institutional accreditor recognized by the U. S. Secretary of Education since 1952. As an accreditor and member of the regulatory triad, MSCHE assures students and the public of the educational quality for its over 500 institutions of higher education.

WHY is the Commission’s accreditation (self-study) process important?
It ensures institutional accountability, self-appraisal, improvement, and innovation through peer review and the rigorous application of standards within the context of institutional mission.

WHEN does the self-study begin? Our re-accreditation process has begun, and we are all a vital part.
