My Brother’s Keeper Summer Connect Program

BMCC is proud to invite you to participate in a unique summer program designed to help students get a head start in college.

The My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Summer Connect Program creates a supportive community for Black and Hispanic men transitioning into higher education but is open to all entering BMCC students. We believe that the concept of community helps all succeed in this transition from high school to college.

Program highlights

Eligible students will receive:

  • One (1) free 3-credit college course (PSY 100,  SPE 100)
  • $600 stipend for students who complete the program and enroll in the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters
  • A Metrocard and lunch for the duration of the program
  • Dedicated academic advisement, tutoring, and peer mentoring
  • Free workshops, cultural trips, sports events, gaming activities, and more
  • Essential soft skills workshops for college and life
  • Career development and planning

This immersive summer program is focused on supporting recent Black and Hispanic male high school graduates who have been admitted to BMCC but is open to all matriculant students entering BMCC for fall 2025.

The program will be held from July 14, 2025 through August 19, 2025, Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classes and most events will be held on BMCC’s Tribeca campus at 199 Chambers Street, but some events will be held at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with other MBK Connect students and field trips will take place around the New York City area.

MBK Scholars who complete the summer program will receive a $300 check, and those who enroll in the fall 2025 / Spring 2026 semester will receive another payment of $300 at the end of each term.
