Megan Dunphy received her Ph.D. in Literacy for At-Risk Learners from St. John’s University in 2014. Â She also holds an M.S. in Education from St. John’ÃÂs University, a Baccelaurate Degree in English from The College of Mount St. Vincent and an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Nassau Community College. Â Before joining BMCC she served as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Communication Skills Department at LaGuardia Community College. Â Dr. Dunphy’ÃÂs research interests include reading self-perception and efficacy, as well as student motivation.

Courses Taught
- Critical Thinking (Same as CRT 100) is designed to develop the mind and help students learn to think clearly and effectively. Through substantive readings, structured writing assignments and ongoing discussions, students will examine concrete examples from their own experience and readings and contemporary issues in the media to learn how to analyze issues, solve problems, and make informed decisions in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
