On behalf of Borough of Manhattan Community College, I wish to thank Dr. Karrin E. Wilks, Senior Vice President and Provost, for her leadership and contribution to the college and its diverse community. Wilks will be leaving BMCC, effective September 21, 2020.

As Interim President, Wilks led the college for two years, raising student outcomes and positioning BMCC for the prestigious Aspen Prize nomination.
I have appointed Dr. Erwin Wong as Acting Provost to help lead our academic efforts moving forward. As Acting Provost, Dr. Wong, who served as Acting Provost from 2018-2020, will continue to serve as the college’s chief academic officer and will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the academic priorities for the college. Wong will work closely with the academic department chairs, academic deans, student services professionals, faculty and staff to provide the highest possible quality of educational programs, both within and outside the classroom. Wong will help ensure that BMCC will recruit, retain, encourage and support an outstanding and diverse faculty in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service.
