Spotlight on Technology: DegreeWorks Debuts in October

September 20, 2006

DegreeWorks is an academic advisement software and degree audit program, designed to help advisors and students choose the necessary courses for degree completion and, ultimately, graduation.

DegreeWorks will address frequently asked advisement questions, including, What happens to my credits if I change my major? Or, How long will it take to complete my degree?

DegreeWorks will track students’ advisement sessions to facilitate following a student’s progress.

DegreeWorks will be useful to both advisor and student in:

1-estimating how many semesters it will take to graduate.
2-understanding the developmental skills courses students must complete.
3-viewing grades, transfer credits or waivers that have been applied to the transcript.
4-confirming academic standing.

It’s hoped that the installation of DegreeWorks will improve the academic advisement process. Keep your eyes open for upcoming faculty information sessions and training opportunities.
