SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON TO GIVE COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS AT BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE GRADUATION

United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D, NY) will deliver the commencement address at Borough of Manhattan Community College’s (BMCC) graduation ceremony on May 31.

“It is particularly appropriate that Senator Clinton should deliver the commencement address this year,” noted BMCC President Antonio Perez. “Her leadership and strong advocacy on behalf of New Yorkers have yielded real fruits in terms of federal funding and tax incentives that we so desperately need to rebuild downtown and the lives of people who live, work, and study here.”

Located in Lower Manhattan, a few blocks from Ground Zero, BMCC was directly affected by the terrorist attack of September 11. One of the college’s buildings was severely damaged as a result of the attack, and the college was closed for three weeks while it served as an emergency command center for the city of New York.

BMCC’s commencement will take place on May 31 at 11:30 a.m. in the Theater at Madison Square Garden.
