Message from the President: BMCC Stands with Paris

November 16, 2015

To the BMCC Community:

I would like to express my overwhelming grief at the senseless violence that took place in Paris, France on November 13.

When New York City was attacked on 9/11, everyone in the world proudly stood alongside us as we rebuilt and reclaimed our city. Today, we stand with Paris and other parts of the world where acts of violence have occurred, with a strong commitment to persevere and show courage in the face of terrorism, and to find resiliency in the face of tragedy.

After the attacks of 9/11 BMCC drew strength from the unbreakable determination of its students and staff—and from an incredible outpouring of compassion and support from our friends and neighbors, here in New York and across the nation and the world.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. May the “City of Light” continue to shine.

President Antonio Perez

PLEASE NOTE:
In a show of support for the people of Paris, the National September 11 Memorial will hold a gathering as we stand united with France at the 9/11 Memorial, Monday, November 16 at 2:30 p.m. (#UnitedwithFrance) to pay tribute to those who were killed in the Paris terrorists attacks, those who were injured, and the first responders who confronted terror and tragedy with incredible bravery.
