Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) hosted the 2023 Honors Convocation ceremony on May 30 in Theatre 2 at 199 Chambers Street. Each year, the Honors Convocation recognizes outstanding student excellence from across many disciplines.
The event featured a special performance by the BMCC Concert Choir as well as a dinner with live music after the ceremony.
Vice President for Student Affairs Marva Craig and Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered introductory remarks. After welcoming the audience made up of proud family members, friends and others, BMCC President Anthony E. Munroe congratulated the students.
“I see people who will change our health care systems for the better, who will help heal our justice-impacted communities, who will join important movements to make our cities safer and open doors to education and opportunity for others,” said President Munroe. “You’ve earned your place here.”
Awards were presented by Vice President and Provost Wong and Vice President Craig as well as Academic Department Chairpersons.
