Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) and American Express today announced $100,000 in grant funding to continue training emerging leaders through the BMCC Leadership Fellows Program. The grant will be used to develop a new generation of leaders who are tackling complex problems facing the higher education community.
Through trainings and hands-on exercises, the BMCC Leadership Fellows Program encourages emerging BMCC leaders from a broad cross-section of the college community, to recognize and grow their own leadership potential within the institution.
One of American Express’ three philanthropic platforms is Developing New Leaders for Tomorrow, which focuses on training high-potential emerging leaders across the nonprofit and social purpose sectors. More than 16,000 emerging nonprofit and social sector leaders worldwide have benefitted from American Express’ leadership programs.

The BMCC Leadership Fellows Program will reconvene with a new cohort in October 2016.
