Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos: Hip Hop Politics, Prison Reform, and Abolition Moderated by Professor Remy Salas, Department of Ethnic and Race Studies faculty - Jasmine Mitchell, BMCC Student - Candy Assanah, BMCC Student - Linda Tigani, NYC Racial Equity Commission - Carlene Pinto, Immigration Campaign Manager for the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) The panel will discuss the trajectory of hip hop politics, including the current state of the cultural and political force of the music.
