The Race, Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee invites you to join us for our three day Social Justice Week Program. The theme will be Challenging Conversations: Building Pathways to Hope and Unity.

Session 2: Keynote Address by Dr. Jelani Cobb
Challenging Conversations: Forging Pathways to Hope and Unity.

Dr. Cobb, Dean and Henry R. Luce Professor of Journalism at
Columbia School of Journalism, will join us to speak about
historical and recent challenges to our democracy, how it
impedes the social justice movement, and what we as
non-politicians have agency in.

Session 3: Movie Screening: The Five Demands

Democracy in Action: In April 1969, a small group of Black and
Puerto Rican students shut down the City College of New York.
Fueled by the revolutionary fervor sweeping the nation,
the strike soon turned into an uprising, leading to the extended
occupation of the campus, classes being canceled, students
being arrested, and the resignation of the college president.
