In addition to teaching at BMCC, Rahcim Anderson is employed by the Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Manager in Engineering Services (see expertise below). Previous experience includes providing intelligence support to United States and Coalition Forces through Joint Maritime Command Information System (JMCIS), which required gathering, processing, disseminating and evaluating data received from satellite and radar systems. Provided an accurate global picture of all current and past locations of enemy forces contributing to the successful mission of United States Naval Operations while deployed to the Arabian Gulf.

Expertise

Operations and Maintenance: Manage Field Operations department, providing 24×7 technical maintenance and support for NYCWIN (New York City Wireless Network). Manage a team of RF/IP technicians who are tasked with maintaining contractual operational agreements regarding network stability and performance which contribute to achieving performance SLAs. Schedule and track preventive maintenance cycle. Provide resources and support for system testing and upgrades. Perform staff reviews and evaluations.

Automation and Cost Control: Managed budgets, materials, and resources to a minimal to keep cost at an absolute low. Able to identify and implement cost savings solutions. Improved the effective resource utilization rate by 2- 5% or more each year, contributing to savings in operational cost with no change in personnel.

Training and Development: Train technicians during the commissioning and integration phase of the project in the areas of RF, IP networking and microwave backhaul technology. Make sure all employees compile to OSHA and company safety standards and policies. Encourage and promote technical certifications and higher educations for my staff. Over 50% of my staff either achieved or pursue college degrees or completed over 3 IT certification courses.

Disaster Recovery: PM (Project Manager) for disaster recovery responsible for writing an executing procedures during disaster recovery efforts. Implement key risk mitigation and contingency plans. Responsible for leading field engineering services during Hurricane Irene and Sandy recovery efforts.
