Karim is an Arab American actor, director, and teacher working at the intersection of performance and education. He is the Co-Artistic Director of Animal Engine Theatre Company, where he creates uniquely physical plays inspired by works of literature, including the award-winning Willa Cather inspired “Petunia and Chicken” and Peter Pan reimagining “Darlings.”
Among his other collaborations are Jaime Sunwoo’s autobiographical exploration of SPAM “Specially Processed American Me” at Flushing Town Hall, daredevil clown Bello Nock’s Drama Desk award-winning show “Bellomania” at the New Victory Theatre and physical comedian Martin Gindick’s multimedia solo show “Wingman” at the United Solo Festival.

He has taught theatre and acting at institutions such as the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Guthrie Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Abrons Arts Center, International Thespian Festival, Wingspan Arts, and Borough of Manhattan Community College.

Karim is a graduate of Ithaca College and the London International School of Performing Arts at Naropa University.
