Jed Cowley has written and directed short films which have screened at festivals such as Sundance, Slamdance, SXSW, IndieMemphis, Friars Club Comedy Festival, and Aspen Shortsfest. His short films have also won awards from HBO, Panavision, and Columbia University Film Festival. His feature screenplays have been recognized by the Nicholl Fellowship, IFP, Austin Film Festival, Cinequest, San Francisco Film Society, New York Stage & Film, and American Zoetrope. In addition to creating stories, he also enjoys promoting the work of others. Jed has programmed short films for Slamdance, Southern Screen, BendFilm, Austin Film Festival, and Columbia University Film Festival and read screenplays for Austin and Slamdance, including adjunct teaching at BMCC-CUNY. Whether in comedy or drama, with his own work or with others’, Jed’s passion lies in wrestling with the jigsaw-puzzle which is storytelling all with the sole aim to tell the best story possible. Jed brings this rigor to all creative endeavors he pursues.
