This year’s conference marks a significant return to in-person collaboration. As a dedicated platform for community college teachers of literature, Transitions and Transactions continues to navigate the evolving landscape of teaching, responding to the distinct challenges of diverse student populations, and the dynamic demands of our profession.
The central theme of the 2024 Transitions and Transactions Conference is “Literature and Health: Mind, Body and Planet.” Exploring the intersection of literature, health, and overall well-being, the theme encompasses the enduring effects of the Covid pandemic, the critical challenges posed by climate change, the nuanced landscape of political discourse surrounding reproductive health, mental health narratives, and various other pertinent topics.
