Michelle HernandezMichelle Hernandez, Assistant Vice President of Communications, Marketing and External Affairs in the Office of Public Affairs, provides strategic vision and direction for BMCC’s public and external affairs and guides outreach to enhance the visibility and reputation of the College.

Dr. Hernandez is a valued strategic partner to BMCC leadership, faculty and staff and helps drive awareness of BMCC among diverse local, regional and national audiences of prospective students, academic peers and business community partners.

In this role, Dr. Hernandez leads marketing and communications efforts in support of the College’s degree programs, departments and centers, and works to further the BMCC mission, strategic plan and brand position. She also serves as a trusted advisor to the Office of the President in managing executive and crisis communications.

In fall 2023, Dr. Hernandez was awarded a Doctor of Professional Studies in Business degree with a concentration in marketing from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. She earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology from Rutgers University.

Prior to joining BMCC, Dr. Hernandez served in executive roles as Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull in Brooklyn, New York, as Director of External Affairs at the Helene Fuld College of Nursing in Manhattan, and as Director of Development at Urban Health Plan, Inc., in the Bronx.
