Judie Eisenberg

Judie Eisenberg, Dean for Sponsored Research and Grants, provides leadership and strategic direction to advance the college’s goals through grant funding. She leads the Office of Sponsored Programs, which is the campus resource for grant prospecting, guidance, training, writing, review, submission, and grant management support. The Office additionally communicates with funders, develops partnerships, leads grant project teams for the college community, and is the primary liaison to the Research Foundation of CUNY.

She previously served as Grants Director in the Division of Advancement, Communications & External Relations at Bronx Community College, CUNY. During her tenure, she helped secure nearly $48 million in grants for instruction, scholarships, training, faculty research, strategic initiatives, capital improvements, student supports, and capacity building that helped to advance and sustain college programs.

In her 25+ years of prior experience as the head of grant writing consultancy ProposalPRO, she won over $500 million in government grants and contracts for nonprofits, institutions of higher education, K12 schools, municipalities, and other organizations.  She is a member of the Grants Professional Association (national and NYC chapter) and a member of the national Government Advocacy Committee. She also has served as a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)’s Federal Funding Task Force.

Dean Eisenberg earned her master’s in criminal justice from John Jay College, CUNY, and her bachelor’s degree in English from SUNY Albany. She is a Grants Professional Certified (GPC) by the Grants Professional Certification Institute, the leading credential for the grants profession.
