Date: Wednesday, March 17, 2021
Time: 3:00pm – 4:00pm

The BMCC Library and CETLS Campus Culture committee bring you: “Stand Up and Speak Out” Social Justice Series

In this first installment of the Spring 21 “Stand Up and Speak Out” event Director Tiffany James will provide a review of CUNY & BMCC policy as it pertains to undocumented students, as well as available funding avenues and additional resources. We will also engage in a discussion of key student concerns and best-practices for how college faculty and staff can respond to these concerns and provide effective support.
Speaker: Tiffany James, Director of Student Success at BMCC.

In 2014 she served as the first campus liaison for TheDream.US scholarship for DACA and TPS students at BMCC and has been working to support undocumented students at the college since that time. Among other areas of focus, BMCC’s Student Success team advocates for greater awareness of the undocumented student experience and advocate for changes in our practice to support their success.
