BMCC Welcomes Diane K. Walleser, Vice President for Enrollment Management
Diane K. Walleser, the college’s first Vice President for Enrollment Management, will lead BMCC’s enrollment and recruitment initiatives, and provide strategic direction to the Admissions, Testing, Financial Aid, Registrar, Scholarship and International Student Recruitment offices. She will work closely with Karrin E. Wilks, Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Marva Craig, Vice President of Student Affairs, to improve student retention and success.

BMCC Expands Free ASAP Opportunity in Response to NYC Mayor's Initiative
BMCC’s free Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) aims to build enrollment from about 1,500 to more than 4,000 students in Fall 2016. Thanks to increased funding from the City of New York, that goal is within reach. A recent City of New York fiscal report shows ASAP funding to increase from $13 million in Fiscal 2017, to $42 million by Fiscal 2019.

Out in Two

BNY Mellon Donates $50,000 to Out in Two Program
BMCC recently announced that BNY Mellon has provided $50,000 in grant funding for the BMCC Out in Two scholarship program. Founded in 1999 by BMCC President Antonio Pérez, Out in Two is designed to help more students graduate within two consecutive years. The BNY Mellon grant will enable BMCC to admit 10 additional students to the program, growing the Fall 2016 cohort to 70 students. Each student will be supported by scholarships for three full semesters, will have a dedicated advisor and benefit from cultural enrichment, as well as community service activities.

Friday

June 24 is the First Summer Friday!
BMCC’s 4-day summer workweek will be in effect Monday, June 20 through Friday, August 5. The College will be closed these Fridays: June 24, July 1, July 15, July 22, July 29 and August 5. The Independence Day holiday will be observed on Monday, July 4, and that week all employees will work un-extended 7-hour days on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Professor Cynthia Karasek Showcases her Work
BMCC Media Art and Technology Professor Cynthia Karasek will showcase her work in an exhibit, Big Drawings and Sculpture, at A.I.R. Gallery, 155 Plymouth Street, Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, June 30 from 6:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m.

Waivers

Summer Tuition Waivers: Priority Given to Students who Register by July 8 for Summer Session II
BMCC will offer Summer 2016 tuition waivers for courses counting toward degree completion to eligible, matriculating BMCC students who are New York State residents (U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Each eligible student may use no more than one tuition waiver in the summer session starting July 19. Learn more.
