BMCC Employee Appreciation Awards Celebrate Dedicated Staff
The BMCC Community gathered on June 8, 2018 to show appreciation and celebrate employees who were nominated for the Employee Appreciation Awards! The winners included: Rosslynn Pieters and Gabrielle Lloyd, "Rookies of the Year"; Mark Rivera, "Innovation/Technology Award"; Rosemary Zelaya, "Inspiration Award”; Business Management (Front Desk) and Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (Business Affairs), "Team Achievement Award”; and Chanel Coward, Leadership Award. BMCC’s Driada Rivas Selected for 2018 NCCHC Fellows Program
The National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) has selected Driada Rivas, Interim Director of the Center for Career Development at the BMCC/CUNY, as a member of the 2018 NCCHC Fellows Program. Rivas is one of 24 representatives from community colleges from around the country, who will be participating in the fellows program designed to cultivate and prepare Latinos for leadership roles in community colleges.

BMCC Introduces Saturday Success Track
Mix the best of on-campus and online courses at BMCC on Saturday. Students can complete an Associate Degree in Business Management or Liberal Arts by taking a combination of online and in person Saturday courses. The Saturday Success Track takes the guess-work out of going to college part-time; students will be given a direct track to completion. Learn more.

Office of Public Safety Offers Resources and Services
The Office of Public Safety provides services and resources to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable learning environment at BMCC. Public Safety provides free C.P.R., A.E.D. and First Aid and Campus-Community Emergency Response Training for faculty, staff and students. Staff are also trained as campus fire wardens. Admissions Summer 2018 Open House: June 23
Do you have family or a friend who is interested in going to college? Deer Oaks EAP Provides Health, Family and Financial Resources
The free Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. BMCC employees, their dependents and household members are eligible to access services such as family counseling, wellness support, workforce guidance and many other resources. Payroll Distribution Moves to Room N-466
Renovation of the BMCC Office of the Bursar could last through early August. The Faculty/Staff payroll will be distributed at 199 Chambers Street in Room N-466 until the renovation is completed.
Health Benefits Seminars: Transitioning to Retirement
Employees transitioning to retirement, as well as those remaining active are encouraged to sign up for seminars with the City of New York Office of Labor Relations (OLR) Health Benefits Program at 40 Rector Street, 3rd Floor, in lower Manhattan. You can also watch a brief, Part One and Part Two video series on how health insurance changes for retirees.
