Evelyn Twitchell is an abstract painter whose work explores the natural world. Much of her inspiration is derived from the light and landscape around her home on the Susquehanna River. Her most recent solo show was, Field Notes, at the Milton Art Bank in Milton, Pennsylvania, and her artwork has been included in over thirty group shows around the country. She received her MFA from Parsons School of Design, and has taught at universities in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Twitchell lives and works in Milton, PA and Brooklyn, NY.

“In these abstract paintings, I am taking note–of both the natural landscape outside my studio and my own interior landscape. I want my paintings to have the effect of a song or a poem: to build and linger; to capture a glimpse or memory; to speak to the qualities of things. Not the appearance of the yard or the river or the sky, but the experience of patterns or light or mood. To renew an awareness of a moment in nature.”
