Art/Works: BMCC Art Faculty Show

February 10 – March 19, 2016
Opening Reception: Wednesday, February 10, 6 to 9PM

Art/Works, an exhibition of recent faculty art, will open at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) of the City University of New York (CUNY) on Wednesday, February 10, in the Shirley Fiterman Art Center.

Starting this past fall, a new Art Foundations Program, conferring an AA in Art History and AS in Studio Art, began preparing students for careers in the arts. With a wide range of courses in studio art, design and art history, the new Art Foundations program offers BMCC art majors the fundamental training required for successful transfer to four-year colleges. Art professors have been helping student build portfolios for transitions to top art and design schools.

Art/Works provides visitors a glimpse of BMCC’s dynamic, diverse faculty of artists and designers. A portion of all sales from Shirley Fiterman Art Center exhibits goes to support the BMCC Foundation scholarship fund.

The exhibition will include work by the following faculty artists:
Yevgeniya Baras, Aisha Tandiwe Bell, Tess Bilhartz, Lynn Braswell , Simon Carr, Betty A. Copeland, Elisa Decker , Donelle Estey, Dikko Faust , Pat Genova, John Goodrich, Xico Greenwald, Joseph Haske, Sarah Haviland, Ann Hjelle, Ana Garces Kiley, Michael Leigh, Susan Leopold, Charles McGill, Thaddeus Radell, Jessica Ramirez, William Reed, Kimberly Reinhardt/Analog Exodus, Judy Richardson, Owen Roberts, Erik Saxon, Adele Shtern, Rachelle Street, Janet Esquirol Sylvan, Joan Thorne, AC Towery, Amy Westpfahl, and Michael Volonakis.
