Message from the Interim President to Faculty, Staff and Students (03/18/2020)

Dear BMCC Community,

Thank you all for your continued patience and support during these challenging times. We continue to make adjustments to services and operations to safeguard our community as details on the Coronavirus emerge.

Because of the hard work, dedication and caring nature of so many, BMCC is ready to continue serving our students. Starting Thursday, March 19, all instruction will be delivered through distance learning, and academic and student support services will be delivered remotely as well. We have trained and equipped as many of our staff as possible to work from home in order to provide uninterrupted services as safely as possible. We know this has taken much effort, creativity, and flexibility. Thank you all for your commitment to maintaining academic continuity and support services for our students.

Please see below additional information about building closures and campus services:

• 199 Chambers remains closed Thursday, March 19. We hope to reopen the building on Friday, March 20 and will provide an additional update when available.

The Library, Advisement, the Learning Resource Center and other tutoring labs will begin virtual services Thursday, March 19.

• Fiterman Hall computer labs in LL03/04 will be open March 19-20 from 7 am to 7 pm with social distancing rules and thus limited seating in effect. Faculty and staff can access Fiterman Hall on a limited basis.

• Murray computer labs in 1109 and 1209 will be open March 19-20 from 7 am to 7 pm with social distancing rules and thus limited seating in effect.

BMCC’s Custodial Team is giving all our facilities extra attention and has increased measures to thoroughly clean areas including common spaces, offices, and classrooms. Click here to learn about cleaning measures being implemented on the BMCC Campus.

We will continue to send out community notices to the email addresses provided in CUNYfirst and through CUNY Alert text messages if necessary. In addition, updates will be posted on BMCC’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Linkedin.

The health and well-being of our BMCC community is our highest priority. Please take good care of yourself, your families, and those around you.
