Message from the Interim President to Faculty and Staff (03/16/2020)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Our highest priority at this time is the safety and well-being of the BMCC community, followed by maintaining academic continuity to the extent possible. We continue preparations to transition all classes to distance learning starting Thursday, March 19, 2020 for the remainder of the semester. We will continue to offer workshops and support for faculty, including a website with expansive course continuity resources. Many staff are preparing to work remotely as well, for those job functions deemed feasible. We are working on plans to maintain some basic services for students, with greater detail to follow. All advisement and most tutoring will be conducted virtually. We are in the process of closing off sections of the campus to minimize cost and risk.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, BMCC’s revised hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and closed on Sunday, for the remainder of the spring semester with reduced on-campus staffing. We will keep the community informed of any changes and continue to provide regular updates.

Thank you as always for the good work you do for our students, and for your patience and support during these challenging times. I am grateful for the concern and kindness shown for all community members, particularly those most vulnerable. Please take good care of yourselves and your families.
