Thanksgiving

Dear BMCC Community,

As we approach this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each of you for a happy and fulfilling Thanksgiving. This time of year, invites us to reflect on the blessings in our lives, and I am grateful for our vibrant community, the spirit of collaboration, and the unwavering support we provide to one another as we navigate our academic and professional journeys. Thanksgiving is a beautiful reminder to count our blessings—big and small. Whether it’s the friendships we’ve forged, the knowledge we’ve gained, or the progress we’ve made, there is so much to celebrate. I encourage you all to take this opportunity to pause, breathe, and appreciate the moments spent with those we care about. Let’s cherish the laughter, the shared meals, and the stories that connect us. However, I also recognize that this time of year can be challenging for many among us. For those who may be experiencing difficulties, I want you to know that you are not alone. Our college is committed to supporting you. We have resources available, including the Learning Resource Center (LRC), which provides tutoring and academic support, our Food Pantry to help alleviate food insecurity, student clubs that foster connection and community, and the Counseling Center, where you can find a listening ear and professional guidance. Let us all remember that it’s okay to seek help and lean on one another—whether it’s through a kind word to a fellow student, a message of support to a friend, or simply being present for those around you. Together, we can navigate the challenges we face and emerge stronger.

As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving or take some needed time for ourselves, let’s focus on hope, healing, and the bonds that unite us as a community.

I am grateful for each of you and the unique contributions you make to our college. I wish you a joyful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and light. May you find peace in this season and be surrounded by those who uplift and inspire you.

Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
