Dear BMCC Community,
I am pleased to share with you the inaugural Annual Report (2022–2023) from the Race, Equity, and Inclusion (REI) Steering Committee at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). This report underscores our ongoing commitment to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for every member of our community.
Over the past three years, the REI Steering Committee has diligently worked to identify and recommend strategies and initiatives that further our mission of equity and inclusion. The Annual Report provides an overview of the progress made, the challenges encountered, and the goals set for the future. It showcases the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, and students in creating a campus where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered.
We recognize that our collective strength lies in our diverse perspectives and experiences. Through intentional actions and collaborative efforts, we strive to ensure that BMCC continues to be a place where all individuals can thrive. This report not only reflects our achievements but also serves as a powerful call to action for sustained commitment and engagement in this essential work. We urge each member of the BMCC community to join us in this journey toward a more inclusive and equitable institution.
