Offering Prayers and Support for our California Community

Dear BMCC Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I extend my thoughts and prayers to the resilient communities in California that are currently facing the devastating impact of wildfires. These catastrophic events have taken a drastic toll on countless individuals—some have tragically lost their lives or beloved companions, while many others have been displaced from their homes and are facing uncertainty and despair.

As a community college that prides itself on its vast and diverse network, we recognize that our BMCC family stretches far beyond the borders of New York City. In addition, many of you may have friends, family, or loved ones affected by these wildfires. It’s in times like these that we must come together to support one another.

We understand that the road to recovery will be long, but we also know that the strength of community shines brightest in moments of adversity. Let us offer our prayers for those who have lost their lives and for the survivors who are grappling with the consequences of these wildfires. We encourage everyone in our BMCC community to reach out, lend a helping hand, and offer support in any way you can. In the spirit of unity, let us remember that we are not alone. Together, we stand in solidarity with the victims and the brave first responders working tirelessly to combat the flames and provide relief.

Thank you for your compassion and for embodying the values of community and support that define us at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Let us continue to uplift one another and extend our hearts to those in need during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Anthony E. Munroe
President, Borough of Manhattan Community College
