WHAT is the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)?
A global institutional accreditor recognized by the U. S. Secretary of Education since 1952. As an accreditor and member of the regulatory triad, MSCHE assures students and the public of the educational quality for its over 500 institutions of higher education.

WHY is the Commission’s accreditation (self-study) process important?
It ensures institutional accountability, self-appraisal, improvement, and innovation through peer review and the rigorous application of standards within the context of institutional mission.

WHEN does self-study begin?
Our re-accreditation process has begun, and we are all a vital part. We are currently in the design phase, and working groups will begin introductory work Spring 2025.

WHO can be on a working group?
All are invited to request participation on a working group. These groups will be populated by mid-February 2025.

HOW will working groups operate?
Each group will have two co-chairs who will report updates to the BMCC Self Study Steering Committee. Groups will develop protocols that work best for maintaining equity of work and completion of vital deadlines.
